Underwater World, Mall of America and more!!!

One picture is before the rides started and the other is when it was finishing. All of them felt it in their stomiches after that ride.

What an exciting weekend we had. We headed for the cities Friday and arrived at grandma and grandpa's house around 8:30 - 8:45pm. Had a nice visit, but had to hit the hay for our excited and packed full of excitement day on Sat. On Sat. we headed to the MOA. We went to underwater world which I thought was so super cool! I had never seen it before. Hannah was worried about the glass braking and hunter loved looking at all the fish. After Underwater World, we headed to meet Barry, Tracy and the kids. We stopped at Build a bear workshop (thanks grandpa!) and then with their newly created animals in hand, we headed for lunch before we hit the rides. WOW!! The rides were fun. hunter was a lot more braver than I thought he would be and loved the rides. Hannah is a daredevil and went on ALL the rides! She was loosing her voice at the end of the day from all the screaming. She screamed on every ride! I laughed the whole time on the rides with her, it was funny! After a long day of rides, we headed back to grandma and grandpa's house and had a quick supper before we head out for Papa and Nana's house. We visited and played there before heading to bed. SUNDAY is finally here. Hunter had been waiting all week for Sunday to go golfing 9 holes for the first time. Papa, Ryan and Hunter headed out to the golf course. Hunter came in 2nd. He did very good I was told. Us girls headed to Costco and the thrift store, which after years of going there and all the time searching through all the clothes for good deals, I have to say, I was disappointed. The prices have gone up so much. Let's just say my bill came to more than I thought it would. Hannah had a blast picking out clothes with Nana. We had to go through all of them before we checked out to put some back, she had a lot picked out. Funny thing is, she wears a small in woman's for tops now, so as I am looking for clothes for her and myself, she is wanting all the ones i picked for me. She already borrows my clothes to wear. Soon, I will borrow hers. After the thrift store we all met for lunch and had to say out good-byes before heading home. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful weekend. We all had fun and will never forget the fabulous time we had. We love you all and will see you soon. I included pictures from the weekend. I took so many, but I can only put so many on the blog.

Spirit Week at School!!!

This week is Homecoming week, or Spirit week at Hannah and Hunter's school. Each day is a different theme. I will list the themes below and post pictures of the kids as I take them. I am not sure who has more fun dressing up, the kids or me dressing them up. I love it!

Mon. - Nerd Day

Tues.- Baby Day

Wed.- Crazy Day

Thurs.- Opposite Gender Day

Fri.-Spirit Day

This is a fun week to dress up and have loads of school spirit! That is one thing I love about his town, they all have school spirit and support their town! It is such a family town. I love it here!!!

The signs on their backs say "Kick me."

Update... At 8:20am the door opens and in walks my kids. Their supposed to be at school which starts at 8:30am. I didn't walk them this morning because it rained last night and I didn't put the stroller in, so it was soaked and I wasn't putting the babies in it soaking wet. Anyways...Hannah is starting to cry saying that no one is dressed up and it isn't nerd day. They looked at a few kids getting off the buses. I called the school to assure them it was nerd day and they needed to hustle back to school. So, they left again to head back to school, hopefully making it on time. I thought they looked GREAT this morning all dressed up, but I guess Hannah is at that age where she doesn't want to look silly. I feel the teen years approaching fast.

Thurs. was opposite gender day. This was not one of Ryan's favorites. Boys should not dress up like girls, but I say if it is for school spirit, let's do it! I think they look great!

Friday is SPIRIT DAY!!! They wore their Breckenridge Cowboy/Cowgirl clothing and I put green and black hair coloring in their hair and make-up on their faces. Not so much on Hannah, it isn't good for your skin, as she would tell me. Hannah has her sofball shorts, socks and shirt on and Hunter has his sweatshirt and a tee-shirt under. I am not sure how he will get the sweatshirt off without smearing all the make-up. I didn't think about that.

Pumpkin picking

Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch. We went last year also. There are hay rides, a weed (I think it is supposed to be corn, but it is weed's) maze, and animals to pet and so many other things to do. It was a beautiful day! We went with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Barry, Auntie Tracy, Jackson and Jenna. We tried to get a family picture, but it is hard to get everyone looking the same direction and sitting still. But, I think I may have gotten the one I will use for our Christmas cards. I am not putting it on the blog, just in case I do use it. You all will get a copy anyways! The kids went through the maze, picked their pumpkins, and saw the animals. We had to head out early to get to Fargo for an afternoon of mini golfing we had planed. The kids all did better than Ryan and I in mini golfing. I have no problem admitting that.

We had such a fun weekend with Hunter's party and family visiting. We thank all of you again who make the long trip to see us. We miss you all, love you tons and we will see you all soon!

Hunter's birthday party

Sat. was Hunter's birthday party with friends and family. It was at Pizza Ranch and it was a Wii party. The kids had a contest against each other on baseball, bowling and golf. There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on each game. Each child left with a gift bag, so even if they didn't place, they all left with something.

Hunter got such wonderful gift's and we were so lucky to have our family be able to attend. Some had a very long drive to come and then turned around and drove the long distance back the same day. We thank and love each one of you! Hunter had 5 friends from school come, along with cousins and siblings, so we had a few kids playing the Wii games
As I have said on this blog before, Hunter is very into golf. He maybe the next Tiger Woods!! He got this net for his birthday and we set it up after his party with Grandpa Steve's help. He loves it! Carter and Hunter were both using it Sunday morning.

Happy Birthday to you....

I tried to get candid shots, but every time I went to take a picture, he turned towards me and smiled.
Wed. Sept. 10, 2008 was Hunter's 8th birthday. How time fly's. It doesn't seem like 8 years ago he was born. On his birthday he was snack helper at school, so he needs to bring the snack for the class. He wanted pizza. So I ordered Domino's to be delivered to his class. After school, we finished out the working day and when Ryan got home from work, he opened his presents and we went to eat. Every year I let the kids choose what they want for their birthday supper. I will make them anything or we can go anywhere. Hunter chose Northern Grill. He had a ham and cheese omelet, and pancakes. We brought his birthday cake with, but everyone was so full, we couldn't eat it. We will light the candles tonight and eat it for desert.

We got him a flag football set for 10 players and new heelys. He has grown out of the ones he got last year. He loves them and got lots of use out of them.

Headwaters Day Parade

This weekend was the Headwaters Day parade. It was a lot of fun! We got lucky and had great weather for it. It was Hunter's first time being in a parade, so he was excited. Carter and Hannah are a pro at this. We started down by my old house and ended up down by the park. The kids all did a great job throwing candy. We almost ran out, but there was a few to sample afterwards. I also included some pictures of our visit to the driving range Sunday. Hunter loves golf and wants to go everyday. I took Hannah and Hunter Sunday while Carter rested with dad. He wasn't feeling so well. He is doing well in school and his teacher says he is outgoing and and very active. She says he is polite and fun to have in class also. He has conferences and school pictures coming up in a few weeks.

It has been 6 long weeks!!

Finally today Hunter's cast came off! This was the second trip to the Drs. to get it off. The first trip resulted in another cast. Today's appt. it came off for good. The bone looks strong and solid, Dr. Williams said. He does have a note to stay out of gym class for 2 weeks. Dr. Williams said he may favor it, but he is to use it normally. It feels "weird" Hunter said, but I am sure it is because he hasn't used the muscles for 6 weeks. So, all is well. All Hunter wants to do is go golfing. I said we would wait a week or so. He informed me he can swing with 1 arm and still use the putting green. I still say we are going to wait.

First day of school!

Today is the first day of school and both kids were excited. Hannah was a tad nervous. I am not sure why??? She has the same teacher as last year and knows all the kids. But, it is a new thing and I understand. Hunter was nervous also, but he doesn't let on like Hannah does. He is in a class where he doesn't know really anyone and is now forced to make new friends. It makes me sad to think that he sits alone or plays alone at recess. He is just not outgoing like Hannah. It is raining a yucky today. We all walked to school this morning and I walked each kid to their class, gave the "Have a great day" kisses and left before I started crying.

I have included some pictures from the morning. There is a picture of each kid eating breakfast. Muffins, cinnamon rolls, strawberries, banana's and grapes. Hannah didn't want her picture taken, she said she had yucky hair. Then there are pictures of leaving the house and then one of each of them at school. I know they will both have a wonderful day and there is no reason to worry, but as a mother, I think you always do worry about your kids.
