A change before school starts

School starts Tues. Hannah decided to get a hair cut and try something different before school starts. She got almost 8 inch cut off and her new glasses came in also. So, Yesterday was a big day for her. She looks so dang cute in her new glasses and with her hair cut, it really makes her look so much older.

We also went to the driving range yesterday to hit a bucket of balls. Hunter is MR.Golf now and wants to do it everyday! He can hit the ball very well, even since his cast is still on. I can't wait to see what he can do with it off.

A visit from Papa and Nana

This past weekend Papa and Nana visited. Us girls went to Fargo to get pampered and the guys went golfing on Sunday. Papa and Nana brought a surprise for the kids. Hannah got a computer of her very own, which I can't get her off of now, and the boys got their own set of golf clubs. I am not talking a plastic set, real golf clubs. All Hunter has talked about is his set of Ping clubs. He has asked me so many times, I can't keep track, to go golfing. The boys went and hit a couple bucket of balls, and they both have a good swing. Hunter is already talking about the golf class he is going to take next summer.

Hannah had her hair and make up done at the spa. She loved it and looked beautiful, just as she always looks.

Sunday we took a trip to the zoo. The animals were playing around and we got to see the baby monkey. We love the zoo! Hannah will be taking the Jr. Zookeeper classes next year and then volunteering there after that. As she says, I will be working at the zoo!

Thanks to Papa and Nana for a fantastic weekend and coming all the way here to send time with us. We had a wonderful time just visiting and spending time together!

EXCITING NEWS!!!

For those who don't know yet, Ryan and I are engaged! Even after almost 3 years, I didn't see it coming. It was a total surprise to me. Of course I said YES, YES, YES!!!

I am not sure who wouldn't know yet, I am sure you can hear me shouting it from the roof tops.
I am lucky to have found such a caring, wonderful man. I am also very lucky that he has a fantastic family that I love spending time with. He always says, "how did I get so lucky?" My answer to that is, I am the lucky one!!!!

We shouldn't have gotten our hopes up!

Today hunter had his appt. to get his cast off. (See picture #1, Hunter in the waiting room very excited to get it off) What a hectic appt. Our appt. was for 1:00, we didn't get called back until 1:40. After finally seeing the Dr. she decided to cut the cast off and then x-ray it. So, off comes the cast.(See picture #2 and #3 was waiting for x-ray)After another hour we find out his wrist isn't healed enough yet and they have to re-cast it. He needs it on another 2 weeks. When it's time to get it off, we have to go to Fargo to have it done. So, after being at the Dr's. for 2 hours, we left with the old cast in one hand and the new one on his left wrist.(See picture #4) We had plans of swimming the next 2 days and lots of fun in the water and not having mom give baths anymore. Tomorrow we might have to walk to DQ instead of the pool. Hannah and Hunter have their eye appts tomorrow and Hannah has a birthday party also, so we will have plenty to do after the daycare kids leave.

The last picture is of Carter. He had his school open house tonight. He has a very nice teacher and a cool classroom. He is so super excited to start school and we know he will do very good and love it!

The Wilkin Co. Fair

Friday we went to the fair. We went during the day and I brought all the daycare kids. Tracy, Jackson and Jenna came with us. It was the smallest fair I have ever seen. There were 5-6 rides total! They were all kid rides, which was the reason we went in the first place was for the kids. No mini donuts, no foot longs, what type of fair is this??? The kids did have a great time and that is all that matters. We got free hot dogs, we got to pet the animals and get tattoos. It was extremely hot, but all the kids did great!

A weekend spent at the zoo and the park.

Sunday, we spent the afternoon at the park. The kids played and wore off all that bottled up energy. It was a nice day. I like it hot and sunny, but the kids liked it cloudy and a bit chilly. Every time we go to the park, they go on this tire swing and spin each other until they are sick. They love it and do it over and over again. We ran into Hannah's friend at the park and after to park, we went to the zoo to walk around. We were at the zoo Sat. also, but most of the animals were sleeping, so we were hoping to catch them awake on Sunday. As you can tell, Hannah and hunter were being monkey's.

Why is it called a "sleep"over when nobody sleeps?

Sat. night Hannah had 3 friends over for a sleepover. It started at 6pm with pizza. They had the basement to roam. I had a meat and cheese tray and veggie tray for them to snack on along with chips and soda. I did peel off face masks with cucumbers on the eyes and painted their toes and fingernails. When it was time to go to bed, that was a different story. In and out of the room, up and down the stairs. Hunter woke up from them talking and making noise at 1:15am. I hadn't fallen asleep yet. I tucked him back in and he proceeded to come into our room 3 other times complaining of the loud bangs and noises. Finally at 3:00am he fell alsleep for the night. I on the other hand hadn't fallen asleep yet. The girls were finally quiet and sleeping at 2:30am. Ryan was up at 7:00am for work and I was then awake and up also. I made the girls breakfast and 2 had to leave by 8:50am. I had to wake them up to leave. Needless to say, it was a long night, but the girls had a very fun time. I am not sure we will be having a "sleepover" party any time soon again. Normally at our house it is a 9:00pm bedtime on weekends. This was just a little to hard on all involved.

Our Big Weekend Breakfast

Every weekend morning, we have a big breakfast. We make pancakes, eggs, bacon and toast. Sometimes we have french toast also. The kids love it and look forward to the "big breakfast" every Sat. and Sun. mornings. This morning I took a few pictures of cooking, the boys chilling out before breakfast and Hannah giving Macy a bath. I am not sure why we have a separate room for Hunter and Carter, they are always where the other one is. When Carter gets up, you hear his little feet running to Hunter's room and they hang out. We went to the movie store to get Hannah a few movies for her sleepover party tonight. The boys each got a Wii game to play. Hunter picked a jet ski game and Carter picked a Sponge bob game. Hannah has invited 5 girls over. We will order pizza, have snacks and then I will do a face mask on each girl and do their nails. Hannah requested that. They can take over the whole basement until Ryan and I go to bed, then they have to continue the party in her room. She has been looking forward to this for months.

Our trip to the Dells.

This picture was of some people we met on the boat cruise we went on Friday night. It was a wonderful group of people.

I know this blog is supposed to be about the kids, but I am adding some of the pictures we took on our trip to Wisconsin Dells this past week. We had wonderful weather and it was fantastic!
The top pictures are of the view we saw. Are room was facing the river, so we could go on the balcony and watch the boats on the river. The picture where we are standing with the waiter is the restaurant Ryan said he had the best steak EVER! That man was our waiter and his name was Lightning. It was such a fancy place, we were out of our league, but it was great food and a nice night.
