Once again spoiled by grandma and grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa tend to spoil the kids. Today hunter got a card in the mail with a gift card to Walmart to buy a Wii game. they feel bad he broke his wrist and wanted to cheer him up a bit. He has been left out of a lot of things since he broke it. No swimming in the backyard or the local pool. Playing at the park seemed to be a challenge. He did manage to figure out a way to play football with his friend Max on Thurs. I have been having to give him a bath (with his swimsuit on, he is to old to have mom give him a bath, so he says). He can get himself dressed and has no problems with the bathroom duties. I took a few pictures of the kids playing the new Wii game. Hannah and Carter went swimming with Auntie Tracy, Uncle Barry, Jackson and Jenna. Hunter stayed home with me and Ryan and he figured out the game for the other kids. Notice the zoning faces on the T.V. One of the pictures is of the T.V. and all the games the kids(Ryan is included as one of the kids since he wanted most of the games) have.

Working on Bumpa's Shop

A couple weekends ago, we went to the farm and all the brother's built a loft area in Perry's shop. They did a wonderful, fantastic job. The 3 kids pretended they were working for Burchill Costruction. They had the shirts and all. It was a fun weekend!

We have our first broken bone!!

The first picture is of Hunter when he was admited to the surgery dept. The following 2 were after he woke up from being put out to reduce the wrist fracture. He wasn't feeling so hot.

July 21, 2008 around 9:30pm, Hunter got his first broken bone. He broke both bones in his left wrist playing catch with a football. Tues. July 22, we spent the day (8:30am-4:30pm) at the hospital in Fergus Falls. The doctor had to put him to sleep to get the wrist back in place. He was a trooper. He was scared, but was tough. He woke up with an IV in his right arm and a green (Cowboy green) cast on his left arm. He will go back in a week to get a re-check and then it sounds like it will have to be on for 4 weeks. At least it will be off for the start of the new school year. He is on some pretty strong meds for pain, and is sleeping on and off. He was so hungry all day. He wasn't allowed to eat last night or this morning. The last time he ate was supper last night. He was STARVING! After he was back from the surgery room, he was allowed water and apple juice which he drank fast. Then it was Popsicles and jello. Then it was 2 pieces of peanut and jelly toast which I think he swallowed whole. Next came more Popsicles and juice and a little can of lemon lime soda. He fell asleep on the way home and Ryan carried him into the house. He is getting to big for me to carry. He napped for a few hours and is now playing battleship with Hannah, Carter and Hannah's friend. Poor kid, no sports for awhile...

A great poem to remind us of our 'precious child.'

Sticky fingers ' tangled hair, scattered crayons, everywhere.
Fancy artwork ' on the wall ' drawn by midgets ' three feet tall.
Tell me why ' and tell me how ' that was mine ' I want it NOW!
Fix my bike. Buy me gum. If you have it, I want some.
Dirty faces, grass-stained knees, learning words ' like pretty please.
Endless hugs & goofy wet kisses, learning respect with 'Mr.' & 'Mrs.'
Scraped-up hands, from falling down. Tender tugs - - on my night gown.
Need more paper ' for Santa's letter? I wasn't so bad ' but I've been better.
Watching a movie ' again and again ' Mommy, please ' put the tape back in.
Messy fingers ' hair gone wild ' all in the life ' of a precious child !!

Winter Fun!

We live across the street from the sledding hill. We walk over and do some sledding and then it's back to the house for hot chocolate. The kids LOVE sledding and could stay out all day.

Look at how cute they are!

Aren't these the cutest

kids you have ever seen?

I think we may have found our Christmas picture for this year!

Happy Birthday Carter and Ryan!!

Thanks mom and dad!

Money, money!!

July 6 was Carter and Ryan's birthday. We celabrated by having a party at Pizza Ranch. Thank you to all of you who could make it and thank you for all the wonderful gift's to both of them. They both got great gifts and enjoyed spending the day with their friends and family.

Fun at the pool!

Having fun at the pool! This is (from left to right) Calihan, Carter, Hunter B, Hannah and Hunter F.

We have a family pass to the local pool in town. We love to go whenever we get the chance. This trip to the pool was after Carter and Ryan's birthday party. The kids cousins were in town for the party, so we took a trip to the pool. It was a beautiful day and a blast at the pool!
